So now I am going add into this massive debate, but I will
start with saying that I am heavily in favor of the BRZ. Yet I recommend that
you read on because I don’t talk about the specifications of these cars.
I think the first thing is price and I have no problem
with
people buying the Scion due to its cheaper price tag. Yet remember that the
BRZ’s base model still has navigation which is an option on the FR-S. Looking
at the price, the Subaru cost $25,495 which is just about $200 more than the
Scion. So that isn’t that bad when it comes to having the extra navigation. Yet this doesn't concern me if I'm honest.![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzlBee5e4Pm8FTXgg_PK2B5VBsCozCtpbsxw0w9hEM4kibnfIeF8DWtQkKe7QWYlzLibLXf5kB6_p8-Ely-pUSfeRE2pf7-8qdsMJqGMz1cDpCWtS0VMYhkBjajrfYPZwwHfpH2pkjd0I/s1600/Scion_FR-S_3-22-2012-Toyota-Motorsports-Kickoff-Day-USA-100-57.jpg)
So let me get to the real point I want to make, and that comes
from the badges. Do you want to own a car with a brand name that is turning 10
years old this year or a brand that is known worldwide for decades? Subaru is
known for being a reliable car maker, but it is also known for its racing
pedigree. So owning a Subaru, you get a piece of that magic, history, and
prestige. It is the same reason and situation for when you buy a Ferrari or a
Porsche. Not only are you buying a car, but also part of the history and
prestige of that company. That is part of what gives those cars their magic. I wouldn’t have as much of an issue with this if
Toyota had its name on the car instead of Scion because even Toyota has SOME racing
history. Not to mention for the GT86, you would share the same GT name as the wonderful
Toyota 2000GT. This car is one of the all time greats and can be considered to be in the realm of the 300SL Gullwing, and the DB5. It was even in a Bond film, and does have a racing history to back its name. This car helped Toyota become one of the worlds best car companies because no one expected Toyota to produce such an amazing car. That surprise was again repeated in the GT86.

Now I am not going to say that Toyota should sell the car
because then Scion would lose money and it is easy to sell as a scion because both the FR-S and Scion are aimed toward the younger age market. But
again the GT badge does have a lot of meaning. But Toyota isn't going to make the switch so I am fine sticking with the Subaru.
So if badges don’t matter to you, and you care more about your car being an accessory than take the Scion.
If you value the name of your car, you might want to go after the Subaru.
In this blog we are also looking for cars that have soul and
passion and I can’t lie and say that just because it has a Scion badge means it’s
soulless.
OH No! Both of these cars are made for people who love cars. The reason I picked this topic of these two for my first blog was because they are both true drivers cars. Both are
for driving pleasure, and both are excellent. With the two names Toyota and
Subaru behind these cars, you know you are going to get something completed,
refined, and put together with pride.
These are true driving cars.
These have true driving soul.
and as Jeremy Clarkson said "they will put a smile on the face of every petrol (gear) head in the world"
